Michael Gamble Michael Gamble is a world-renowned swing DJ who has had the pleasure of doing his thing for events large and small for the better part of 10 years. He has played for countless exchanges and workshops in over 35 US cities, recently including the Rhythmic Arts Festival, the International Lindy Hop Championships, and Lone Star Championships. He has been head DJ for Beantown Lindy Hop Camp, has been selected as head DJ for the upcoming European Swing Dance Championships, and is the competition music coordinator and a head organizer for Lindy Focus. Michael believes in playing music that was created with swing dancing in mind. Depending on the event, that can include a wide range of music from the bouncy two-beat of early jazz and Charleston music, to hard swinging-out music from the mid- and late-30′s big bands, to the more boogie, bop, and modern-twinged combo’s of the late 40′s and early 50′s. Contemporary “trad-jazz” and New Orleans musicians are not to be neglected, though, and he takes some time within each set to acknowledge the efforts of the many amazing living musicians of today. Overall, Michael relishes in the unlimited joy and energy of all styles of swing music, and looks forward to sharing that enthusiasm with the dancers he meets at each swing event.

Mead McLean Mead has been DJing regularly for four years in Savannah, GA and Boone, NC with the occasional set around the region. His style is inspired by his massive collection of the oldest of old school swing-era music and an ear for choosing arrangements with rhythmic variety. In any given set, you'll hear music flow from classic swing to traditional jazz and from small group swing to gypsy music. He strives to make each set a journey through a range of musical feelings to provide a memorable and energetic dance experience.

Jason Platt Like many dancers, Jason believes a phenomenal song can help make his dancing better. Back in 2005, he started collecting music and DJing for the Lehigh University Swing Club to bring those great songs to his fellow swing dancers. Since then, he has spun tunes for events from Connecticut to Georgia, for new dancers at local bars and dance addicts at prestigious events like The Balboa Experiment. Jason is known for playing mostly small group and big band swing while interjecting dixieland jazz, rhythm and blues, and americana to keep his sets fresh and interesting. His favorite artists to dance to are Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Chick Webb, and Fats Waller.

Emily Nybo
Emily loves music, and she likes to dance. As a DJ, she wants to play music that makes you want to dance. Back in 2007, 2 months after her first exposure to swing dancing in Knoxville, TN, and was persuaded to ride along with friends south to AVS. Not knowing what she was getting into, she was hooked. She started to collect music and took up an interest in DJing in 2009 when attending Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. Having spun tunes for lindy and blues dancers at events Last Call Blues, Boulevard Blues, and Greenville Swing Out Rhythm, along weekly dances at Atlanta's own Graveyard Tavern, she is excited to DJ at AVS.
